CARE’s The Ethical Chef days: culinary excellence, Michelin-starred chefs and Italian design, four days devoted to ethics and sustainability in the Dolomites
After the success of the previous editions, LAGO and CARE’s joined forces again in Alta Badia to put the spotlight on sustainability. We believe strongly in putting culture in the centre of what we do: that is why for this year’s CARE’s event, we again decided to work with the Michelin-starred chef Norbert Niederkofler to raise public awareness of some of the most important themes of contemporary life.
For the event, we designed and decorated the Casa della Cultura di Villa, a structure at the foot of the ski slopes surrounded by the stunning snow-capped peaks of the Dolomites. For the four-day event, the space, set up like a 3-floor home / bistro including Oscar Farinetti, the founder and creator of Eataly and FICO, Stefania Lallai of Costa Crociere and Lara Gilmore of Food for Soul.
With the goal of facilitating encounter and exchange, all of the areas of the space were designed for the interactions that they would be hosting. On the ground floor, we set up a 7-metre Community Table to be used during the master classes and Michelin-star lunches. On the first floor, we created a huge lounge with sofas and suspended bookshelves, which served as a meeting place for networking and discussions. And on the upper floor, looking out over the Dolomites, we set up a enormous oversized 4 x 4-metre bed, used by guests for breaks and relaxation. Seeing that gigantic bed brought out the kid in everyone, plunging into the pillows and blankets and dreaming of a more sustainable future.
