LAGO’s architectural design meets Rome’s historic heritage in a new interior design project
From the entrance of the new designer Lata Rana – Colosseum Luxury Loft you can admire impressive views of the Colosseum and the majestic Lateran Obelisk in Piazza San Giovanni, immersed in Rome’s incredible history.
The idea to create a B&B here came from Vittorio Testa Pomarici, the property’s owner; Mirio Ranalli, architect at Anzalone Mobili; and LAGO Store Roma Gregorio. The goal was to design luxury accommodation right in the heart of the Eternal City.
The palazzo itself dates back to 1890 and is set in an intimate, elegant shared courtyard. The property has been redeveloped to create three vaulted spaces made up of two large arches, which separate the living area from the bedroom, and the kitchenette from the bathroom.
LAGO’s modular make-up ensures the interiors are fully customised, accentuating the existing structural features while also defining the new layout.
Functional furniture solutions like the modular bookcases and floating wardrobes have been cleverly inserted to mark out the different spaces. The modern kitchen design produces an exceptional visual effect, with wall-mounted units and glass surfaces, which create fluid reflections that add depth. Finally, the striking Air bed on glass legs lightens the look in the bedroom, conjuring up dreams of floating off to sleep on a cloud.
The internal walls hark back to the building’s original splendour, while the furniture by LAGO introduces an innovative, modern design. This creates a stunning contrast carried throughout the space. The custom colour palette makes for a restful ambiance and adds a warm feel.
Guests are guaranteed the very best comforts and luxuries thanks to hi-tech features and an attractive service package, which complete the offering at Lata Rana – Colosseum Luxury Loft. A truly multifunctional space for an unforgettable Roman escape.
